Eve of War – Bournemouth

Trisha Lewis plays Nanny Eve Cummins in a touching,humorous and thought provoking play set on the eve of WW2. During the course of the drama we learn of Nanny Cummins’ life, disappointments and attitudes to the looming conflict as she reads from the big Victorian history book “Little Arthur’s History of England”. She fortifies herself with a swig from her special medicine bottle that she keeps hidden under her pillow. Nanny knows she cannot keep the truth of the horror of war from her little Arthur. And in a dramatic climax we come to understand the secret that Nanny herself has kept hidden all these years…”

This is a fully staged play which lasts for just under an hour and a half plus an interval

Trisha Lewis
Trisha is a Bournemouth based actress with an enormous range of professional work to her credit. Trisha is extremely well known for her work in Dorset and the South and over the years has specialised in single-handed portrayals of strong and quirky women such as Joyce Grenfell , Mary Woolstonecraft and Virgina Woolfe. As well as her theatre work she is well known throughout the region for her specialist work in reminiscence drama for elderly people
