So far the experiment is grinding slow. We managed a few days of trying various ideas over the summer and I certainly learnt a lot even if the participants didn’t.
I have a few more days lined up and some new ways into the subject.
But I am more convinced than ever that we have to try something different. I believe theatre generally has got out of touch with most people and I believe there is a niche for a simpler, human sized theatre that could bring the drama back within reach of us all.
Over the past year or so I have been writing about this form of unplugged, human-sized theatre which I call The Burning Stage. Well, now is the time to try to put some of those ideas into practice Will it work? Who knows? That’s the beauty of an experiment.
