The Burning Stage #8 The Experiment
Hello, I’m Peter John Cooper. I have been making theatre for over fifty years and running companies in North Wales, Oxford and Dorset. I am also a director and writer and my plays have been performed in various parts of the world.
I believe theatre generally has got out of touch with most people and I believe there is a niche for a simpler, human sized theatre that could bring the drama back within reach of us all.
Over the past year or so I have been writing about this form of unplugged, human-sized theatre which I call The Burning Stage. Well, now is the time to try to put some of those ideas into practice and I’m running an experiement which will land as a performance in October. Will it work? Who knows? That’s the beauty of an experiment.
So, I am looking for a small group of volunteers who might be willing to put some time in over the summer on this project. For this experiment to work I need people who can see the excitement in the unknown. The experiment can encompass actors who are professional and would like to try their hands at something different as well as enthusiasts who have never set foot on a stage before. There is no money.
